We’re Chris & Jenn, the husband-and-wife team behind Sage & Soil—born from a shared passion for self-reliance, natural living, and creating a life rooted in wisdom and intention. What began as a few jars of home-preserved food, hunting and fishing, and our backyard garden grew into a way of life—one centered around foundational readiness, ancestral skills, and chemical-free simplicity. We didn’t want to just survive the unexpected. We wanted to thrive through it—with calm, clarity, and capability. Chris brings outdoor knowledge to the table. An experienced hunter and fisherman, he sees wild harvest as a sacred part of living in rhythm with the land. With a 20 year military career behind him, Chris carries the discipline, resilience, and leadership that come from decades of service – skills he now channels into a life of peace, purpose, and provision. Whether he’s tracking game, casting a line, or teaching others to clean and preserve wild foods, his skills are guided by respect for nature and the belief that real readiness includes knowing how to provide from the land itself. Jenn’s strengths lie in natural homemaking, herbal wisdom, and strategic planning.  With over 20 years experience in project management, and having owned her own businesses since 2005, she brings clarity, structure, and execution to every element of Sage & Soil - from formulating non-toxic home goods to coordinating and preserving seasonal harvests. Her deep belief in intentional living is reflected in all she creates. Together, we’ve built a life—and a business—that reflects our deep-rooted values.
